Harbor Days

Both mariners and residents alike know that Elk Rapids is home to one of the best-kept, best-run harbors to be found anywhere along the Great Lakes. Not only is the Edward C. Grace Memorial Harbor home to many sailboats and cruisers, it is also the inspiration for an annual community celebration known as Harbor Days.

This year the celebration will be held from August 2-5, 2006. During this time various bands will entertain, numerous family-friendly activities will occur, a midway carnival will be in full swing, and a Grande Parade will take place at noon Saturday. As always, the festivities culminate after dusk on Saturday with a boat lighting contest in the harbor and then the best fireworks display in northern Michigan.
