Old Mission Peninsula

Old Mission is in full bloom (literally) during the spring. The cherry orchards along center road begin to show their white blossoms in May, making for beautiful drives up the peninsula. Old Mission's wineries, including Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, Bowers Harbor Vineyards, Chateau Chantal Winery and B&B, Chateau Grand Traverse, and Peninsula Cellars, sponsor a Blossom Days weekend May 20-21, but their doors are open for wine tasting all month long. For details and tasting room hours, call one of the wineries. Their contact information is available at www.wineries ofoldmission.com.

While you're on the peninsula, be sure to visit Old Mission Lighthouse Park. In addition to the lighthouse itself, the park features a restored log cabin from the 1800s, water perfect for wading and hiking trails that go for miles.
